The Premier League have affirmed that Son Heung-min was sent off for jeopardizing Andre Gomes’ security, during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Everton.
Toffees midfielder Gomes endured terrible leg damage after Son had handled him and he slammed into Serge Aurier.
He was quickly taken to emergency clinic in a rescue vehicle, in the wake of being treated on the pitch.
Ref Martin Atkinson initially gave Son a yellow card, yet immediately updated his choice to a red card, subsequent to seeing the degree of the harm to Gomes.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) didn’t examine the episode.
“The red card for Son was for imperiling the security of a player which occurred as a result of his underlying test,” the Premier League clarified in an announcement.
