The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Friday, reported that it has deferred the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school competitors, 2020 inconclusively. This was affirmed in an announcement by WAEC Head of National Office, Mr. Patrick Ehidiamen Areghan, on Friday.
He said the assessment was delayed in light of the dangerous coronavirus.
The test was booked to start on April 6, 2020.
“This is because of the effect of the novel and fatal coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and the genuine ramifications it has for the lead of the WASSCE for school competitors, 2020, combined with the nerves it has produced among the people. “This choice is an exhibit of the association’s anxiety and backing for the different conventions being set up by the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria and the administrations of the other part nations to check the spread of the malady.” Areghan further expressed that the timetable for the assessment had been suspended and would be checked on once the wellbeing circumstance improves.
