Father of another child conveyed at a Port Harcourt medical clinic has called for alert among attendants and birthing specialists affectionately discovered losing recently conveyed babies in the emergency clinic.
The moderately aged man who had his new child lost for someone else decided after the strange episode that followed the conveyance of his infant kid at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, RSUTH.
The man who distinguished himself as Bob, solicited that the administration from RSUTH be progressively cautious in the administration of recently conceived babies in their office, saying that his significant other was given another child to breastfeed by one of the attendants at the emergency clinic.
Sway told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the said nurture gave an infant young lady to his significant other to breastfeed who at that point raised the alert that her infant had been traded.
He said their infant kid was returned following quite a while of warmed contentions, where the medical attendant on the job argued that the trade was done in blunder.
According to him, “When I came to the hospital, my wife and my mum told me that the hospital management said that I abandoned my baby. After then, we went to see the baby and when my wife got there, the baby they gave her to breastfeed wasn’t her baby actually because I think the nurses were not careful while checking the babies.
“So, I went back there and now saw my baby. One other nurse at the nursery was also wondering why my wife was breastfeeding another baby. She later showed us our baby.
“I think the nurses need to be more careful with things like this to avoid confusion.”
The Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Friday Aaron was yet to respond to several calls as at press time.
