Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo, has won the club’s March Goal-of-the-Month award.
The Nigerian striker won his first honor at the Old Trafford club after his shining exertion goal against LASK in the Europa League. Man United made this known in an announcement on its official site on Saturday.
“Ighalo has won the club’s March Goal-of-the-Month award,” the announcement read.
“The Nigerian’s driven shot to open the scoring against the Austrians, after some talented ball shuffling in the development, brought home 32 percent of your votes in our Official App.
“Ighalo barely beat off furious rivalry from Scott McTominay, whose significant late goal against Manchester City got 26 percent. Bruno Fernandes’ first strike from open play for the Reds, at Everton, completed third in the survey with 16 percent.
“Obviously, March was sliced short because of the progressing coronavirus pandemic, with the Reds’ games versus Tottenham Hotspur, LASK and Norwich City being deferred.”
Ighalo joined Man United in the January move window from Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua.
The 30-year-old has scored four goals in eight appearances for the club up until this point.
