Arik Air resumes operations as union shelves strike

Aviation Unions, on Monday, closed down the tasks of Arik Air for supposedly owing its staff.

The association asserted Arik Air has not paid its laborers since April subsequent to putting 90 percent of its workforce on obligatory leave and other enemy of work rehearses.

The associations incorporated the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) and Air Transport Senior Staff Services Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN).

NAN reports that all Arik Air tasks in Lagos State were closed down.

Mr Innocent Atasie, Chairman, ATSSSAN, Arik Air Branch disclosed to NAN that the laborers set out to close down Arik activities cross country when all endeavors made to determine the issue fizzled.

Atasie said that the associations were annoyed that there had been no installment of staff pay rates since April subsequent to putting 90 percent of the workforce on mandatory leave.
