A bigger level of individuals from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) voted in favor of the continuation of the progressing across the country strike.
The national heads of the association on Monday guided its zonal facilitators to meet and direct the submission.
At a choice held at the Oyo State section of the Union, in Ibadan, 200 individuals casted a ballot in ascension, while just 50 individuals casted a ballot to end the strike.
Talking after the submission, Dr. Deji Omole, Chairman of the University of Ibadan Chapter, said the submission was led to know whether the association should end the strike or not.
He confirmed that individuals voted in favor of the continuation of the strike on the grounds that the administration is yet to fulfill the majority of its need.
ASUU and the Nigerian government are yet to go to a concurrence on assets for the revitalisation of colleges.
The association is requesting N50 billion however the FG discharged just N25 billion, saying it doesn’t have N50 billion.
Sources at the zonal congress guaranteed most of the individuals voted in favor of the continuation of the strike since they questioned government’s truthfulness in satisfying its new guarantees.
Talking after the last gathering, Chris Ngige, Minister for Labor and Employment stated,
“We have met it midway. We have offered what we have; we don’t have N50 billion.”
